Walkable Communities are Making a Comeback
The National Association of REALTORS has completed the Community Preference Survey. The most recent survey showed that 56% of respondents preferred living in a walking neighborhood. When considering a home purchase, 77% said they were looking for communities that had abundant sidewalks.
Another interesting statistic that came from this research was that even though the size of the home is very important, 59% said that they were willing to buy a smaller home if its location would have a commute time of 20 minutes or less.
Are you thinking about moving into a “walkable” community? How about moving closer to where you spend a lot of your time? If you or anyone you know is thinking about making a move here in Boone, Hamilton or Hendricks County in Central Indiana let me know. I can be reached via phone/text at 317-413-5311 or email me at
