Do you need a REALTOR?

Posted to Jeremy Page

A new report by MRIS.com is out that shows the answer is yes. In today’s real estate market it is imperative to have someone who is knowledgeable about our ever-changing industry. The survey showed that most of today’s consumers recognize that this is not the time to try completing a real estate transaction on their own. They are placing a stronger emphasis on having a professional agent who is up-to-date with the latest news of the industry.

Consumers are focusing on agent’s professional skills. The most important criteria is a realtor’s trustworthiness. Experience, willingness to look out for a client’s best interest, expertise in negotiating contracts, responsiveness and familiarity with contracts and knowledge of the area also ranked high for criteria when choosing a realtor. The survey did find that even though the internet has provided consumers the ability to do more research on their own, it did not substitute for using a professional. When it comes to actually buying or selling a home, there is nothing more valuable than industry knowledge, expertise and guidance that a REALTOR can provide.
