Baby Boomer buying and selling Real Estate

Posted to Boone County Indiana, Jeremy Page

What are “boomers” expected to desire in their future real estate transactions? Builders and developers are expecting this generation to re-emerge into the real estate market soon. Housing experts predict that retiring baby boomers will want a variety of housing styles. They are expected to primarily be interested in smaller homes and developments that are restricted to older buyers. Younger boomers are expected to want to continue to work. This will keep the location of the homes important, with a home close to their job being ideal. This is also expected to increase the importance of a home office in their home’s floorplan. A few other things that are expected to be important are: walking trails, gated communities or security and expanded storage into garages.
