Owning a Home versus Renting

A new survey by an online real estate marketer, Trulia, has found that it is more affordable to purchase a home than it is to rent in most of the United States. They found that in 72% of Amercia’s 50 largest cities it is more affordable to buy a two bedroom home instead of renting the same amount of space. In fact, they found that renting was only less expensive than buying in four cities that were surveyed. The only four cities surveyed that showed a benefit to renting were New York City, Seattle, Kansas City and San Francisco.
