Characteristics of Local Indianapolis Home Buyers
- First-time homebuyers comprised 44% of homebuyers
- Typical first-time homebuyer was 29 years old while the typical repeat buyers were 48 years old
- 2008 median household income of buyers was $66,000
- Repeat buyers median income was $82,300
- First-time homebuyers median income was $55,400
- 22% of recent homebuyers were single females
- 9% of recent homebuyers were single males
- 32% of recent homebuyers stated that the primary reason for purchasing was, “A desire to own a home”
