REALTOR vs. Real Estate Agent

Posted to Jeremy Page

It is important for consumers to realize there are some big difference between a REALTOR and a real estate agent. A REALTOR belongs to the National Association of REALTORS and is held to a much higher standard than a real estate agent. As a REALTOR, we pay dues to be a member of this organization that go to helping out the housing markets across the United States.  Another  responsibility we have is to inform billmakers about the consequences of the bills they create. REALTORS also have the ability to further their education and earn designations that are endorsed by NAR. Some examples of designations available are Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate of REALTOR Institute (GRI).

The first wise step in buying or selling a home is to use a REALTOR. The second step is making sure that your REALTOR has the knowledge and abilities necessary to work for you from the search process to the closing process and beyond. If you have any other questions about how using a REALTOR would benefit you please shoot me an email at or call me at 317-413-5311.
