Characteristics of Local Indianapolis Area Homes Sold
Interested in the characteristics of local Indianapolis area Homes Sold? The latest information has become available from a survey of Home buyers and sellers commissioned by MIBOR. The survey was based on transactions between July 2008 and June 2009.
- New home sales were the lowest they have been in 8 years
- New home sales comprised 22% of all homes sold
- The typical home sold was 2,000 square feet and built in 1997
- 90% of buyers purchased a detached single-family home
- Median purchase price was $142,000
- When considering what home to purchase, commuting costs were considered very important or somewhat important to 74% of buyers
